Celebrate CNY with "Toy Stories" & Senior Visits

Description: This Chinese New Year, volunteers are invited to join the “Co-create for GOOD – Hand in Hand” program to bring warmth, joy, and festive spirit to children, teenagers, and elderly community members. Together with JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes, you will help create a welcoming environment where participants of different ages can connect, feel cared for, and enjoy meaningful holiday activities.

Volunteer Roles:
  • Volunteers will chat with elderly participants, inviting them to share childhood toy stories while you also share your own memories of both traditional and modern toys (such as spinning tops, marbles, toy cars, and teddy bears), helping to spark connections. You will spend time simply talking together, listening patiently, and building warm, trusting relationships through relaxed, caring conversations.
  • During the event, volunteers will split into three teams to visit elderly residents in three housing estates in the Eastern District, delivering Chinese New Year goodie bags and festive blessings to those who may be more isolated.
Remarks:
Application deadline: Feb 8th

An online briefing session will be conducted on Feb 9th (time to be confirmed). Briefing materials will be shared afterwards.

This activity welcomes families (with kids under 12 years-old) or individuals to join.

All volunteers must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. Friends or family members who wish to join are warmly welcome—please ensure that each person registers and signs up separately.
