Distributing goods to families displaced by the Tai Po fire
Description:
The Crossroads Foundation is supporting households displaced by the Tai Po fires, distributing donated goods to the homes of 200 families living in transitional housing at Kai Tak. These items include new fridges, washing machines, microwaves and induction stoves.
Volunteers will be moving these items into the temporary homes, involving heavy lifting to offload and unpack goods for smooth delivery to families. As there are no lifts, delivery professionals will carry items up the staircases, while volunteers will handle loading and offloading onto trolleys and moving them safely from the staircase to designated flats.
Before signing up please consider your own level of fitness and comfort with carrying heavier items, which will be essential for this activity.
Lunch will be provided during a break from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you on this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
