Support at a health and wellness workshop with carers
The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong has been operating the " Integrated Community Centres for Mental Wellness" in the Kwun Tong and Tai Po districts since October 2010. The centre provides district-based, one-stop services for individuals in need, including mental health recovery patients (hereafter referred to as recovery patients), those suspected to have mental health issues or experiencing emotional distress, their family members/caregivers, and residents living in the district. These services range from prevention to crisis management and include community support, rehabilitation services, and local education initiatives.
Program Objectives:
1. Alleviate the stress faced by family members caring for recovery patients.
2. Enhance the resilience of both family members and recovery patients.
3. Encourage family members to explore different stress-reduction methods and increase their awareness of community resources to better care for themselves.
4. Improve relationships between participants and their family members through various activities.
