Support at an essential oil massage workshop with carers

The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong has been operating the " Integrated Community Centres for Mental Wellness" in the Kwun Tong and Tai Po districts since October 2010. The centre provides district-based, one-stop services for individuals in need, including mental health recovery patients (hereafter referred to as recovery patients), those suspected to have mental health issues or experiencing emotional distress, their family members/caregivers, and residents living in the district. These services range from prevention to crisis management and include community support, rehabilitation services, and local education initiatives.

Program Objectives:
  1. Alleviate the stress faced by family members caring for recovery patients.
  2. Enhance the resilience of both family members and recovery patients.
  3. Encourage family members to explore different stress-reduction methods and increase their awareness of community resources to better care for themselves.
  4. Improve relationships between participants and their family members through various activities.

Event on May 10, 2025: "Essential Oil Massage Workshop"

Event Purpose: Pay attention to personal physical and mental health needs, enhance family members' sense of competence, learn to get along with the rehabilitated person, and improve intimate relationships.

Volunteer Roles:
Volunteers will join family members of mental health recovery patients in the essential oil massage workshop. By understanding different aromatherapy techniques, you can make a suitable essential oil for yourself and the family members and recovery patients, promote mutual understanding, and allow family members to use the essential oils you make to massage the patients, thereby increasing interaction between family members and each other.

All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member join you on this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
