Help Out with Beach Cleaning in Pui O (child volunteers with an adult)
Description: Plastic Free Seas and Treasure Island are co-hosting a community beach cleanup. Gloves and bags will be provided. Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes; a hat; light, comfortable clothing; bring a full reusable water bottle; sun protection and bug spray.
Remarks: This is the time of year that the winds change, bringing a lot of rubbish to the coast at Pui O, South Lantau. There will be a safety and instruction brief at the start of the cleanup, and a debrief at the end. Note there are toilets at the beach.
Volunteers are expected to refrain from bringing single-use items to the beach, such as disposable plastic bottles and liquid cartons, rain coats, packaged snacks, etc.
Please be reminded that all participants must be signed up for this event, including adults and children. Volunteers should not bring along a friend or family member who has not signed up.
Children under 13 years must be accompanied by an adult for this program. Children age 6-12 must create an individual volunteer account and sign up through this page. Volunteers who want to bring their children under the age of 6, please email their names and ages to HOHK@handsonhongkong.org.
Volunteers will receive a detailed service reminder email one day before the event.
