Collect Bread for Redistribution - Sha Tin Yu Chui Shopping Centre
Description: In Hong Kong, 3,600 tonnes of food are discarded daily, while one in five people struggles to access nutritious meals. In response to this urgent need, Feeding Hong Kong's Bread Runs mobilise dedicated volunteers to collect surplus fresh bread and quality food from local stores near closing time. Volunteers play a crucial role in addressing hunger and reducing food waste in our community, helping us sustain this vital work.
These bread donations are redistributed the same night or first thing the following morning to local charities feeding people in need including shelters for the homeless, migrant workers, refugee support centres, children's homes and other non-profits supporting the vulnerable.
Volunteers will work in teams of two to support Feeding Hong Kong’s Bread Run and collect food items from a Maxim's store in Yu Chui Shopping Centre, Sha Tin. These items will be delivered immediately to their Yau Tong warehouse.
