Help Children with Homework in Sheung Shui
Description: Hong Kong Society for the Deaf strives towards improving education for hearing-impaired children and supporting their families. This allows students to consolidate their learning and further their studies.
Volunteer roles:
1. Volunteers guide students through homework and enhance their learning motivations.
2. Communicate with parents about the students' learning when necessary (staff will assist with sign language interpretation)
Background of the students:
1. Age: 6-12 (Primary 1-6)
2. These students have noraml hearing abilities but their parents are with hearing impairments. This makes their parents hard to support their children's homework.
Volunteer Requirements:
1. Cantonese speakers aged 16/+ who can read/write traditional Chinese and English.
2. Be patient when communicating with children.
All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member joining you on this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
