Help out at Food Recycling Workshop in Kwai Chung (Youth Welcome)

Description: The food waste problem in Hong Kong is very serious. A large amount of food is discarded from the food supply chain every day. Hong Kong people produce 3,600 metric tons of food waste on 259 double-decker buses every day. At the same time, the disadvantaged groups in society are always ignored, and they are not satisfied with food.

Volunteer Roles:
Volunteers will use the collected surplus food from the wet market to prepare nutritious and delicious hot soup or meals for underprivileged seniors or families. Or volunteers will use the collected surplus food to make useful materials like lip balms and art products.



July 12th: Sharing Light Snack Time with the Elderly
-Volunteers and the elderly will participate together in relaxing interactive mini-games while enjoying delicious snacks and drinks. During this joyful time, they will experience the positive impact of happiness and interaction, spending this warm and delightful moment together!




Remarks: 
Parental guidance is required for child volunteers aged 6-17. This activity welcomes families to sign up. Both the guardian and the children should sign up to this activity online.

All volunteers who attend this activity must be registered with HandsOn Hong Kong. If you wish to have a friend or family member joining you on this activity, they must first register with HandsOn and sign up for the activity.
