Testing Corporate Drop off food essentials for people in need 9th July 2022

With the 5th wave of COVID, Hong Kong's charities have witnessed a significant increase in the number of people needing food assistance and hygiene items. According to studies, one million people across Hong Kong struggle to afford fresh food.

With Feeding Hong Kong food drop-off centers now open, teen volunteers (age 13-17) can now easily support food assistance needs in Hong Kong in their own time and selected location. The Feeding Hong Kong fleet of trucks regularly visits these locations to collect these non-perishable food items and hygiene supplies. They then bring these items directly to charities across the city serving vulnerable groups.

Each volunteer that signs up to drop-off food items, should bring at least the following:

  1. 3-4 tins of canned food (with 2 month+ expiry date)

  2. 1 bag of rice

  3. 1 box of dried pasta

  4.  1 box of face masks

Volunteer Roles:

  • After signing up and committing to procure at least the items above, our team will send you the exact location in Cheung Sha Wan for your selected drop-off point

  • You then drop off your items in your own time, following the opening hours for your location. Please drop off your items within 10 days of signing up.

  • In order for our Youth Empowered team to verify your service hours, please take a photo of your items and send to the email address provided (include your registered HandsOn name and email account).
